The system is not getting bigger despite claims. It is getting regulated, and I would agree must people would agree that health insurance which is so essential to peoples lives when in crisis should have standards so they won’t get the short end of a stick when they get sick.

That is the point I’m trying to raise directly w/exNYinTX. From all appearances he thinks Rights and Obligations originate with the Constitution. This view is categorically wrong. It is well known, or should be, the US Const. was derived from the Magna Carta. Implicit in this knowledge is the idea that Rights and Obligations exist prior to codifying them in Law. The MC recognized this, as does the US Const. Law must act at the behest of Man, not Man at the behest of Government or Law.

And the Constitution itself does not lay out in detail Individual Rights. It does lay out in express detail Government obligations and duties. One of which is provision of Courts tasked with envisioning and applying Law. As is explicitly codified in the Constitution Man is borne with Rights. It is the duty of all three branches of Government to Preserve and Defend these Rights. Courts in particular are tasked with outlining and specifying on case by case basis the details of such Rights.
