The waiting times in these countries are at most a few weeks more than ours, and often comparable. People here get turned down for procedures every day, by THEIR INSURANCE COMPANIES. And not so that someone who needs care more urgently can get it, just so that some CEO can make another million.
Here’s a question for you: How many people go bankrupt from medical bills in the US? Over 700,000 per year. How many in Canada or almost any of the countries with Universal health care? NONE.
The U.S. has 20 times the population of Canada. We have many times more doctors, and many (too many) of them are specialists. Just by numbers alone, we are likely to have a few of the top specialists in the world.
And when the PM of Canada came here, part of that was subsidized by his government health care plan.
A republic is a form of government. Socialism is a form of economic system. Sweden is a Socialist Democracy. They are not incompatible.
Oh, and lest I give your dumbass any sort of amunition whatsoever, that you may confuse yourself with having figured out something on your own, yes Im aware that many other petroleum products are drawn out first, propane, butane, natural gas, ISO butane, etc etc etc etc etc etc.
There is no such thing as a “free market” absent of the government’s action.
Government mints the coins and money we use and establishes the standards and measures that products are measured by. Government sets the rules about what is a legitimate trade, and what is force or fraud. Government provides the police to catch those who don’t follow those rules, the courts to judge them, the jails to hold them.
No Government means we meet to barter and I kill you and take your goods because I can.
Tracking down those who disagree? It’s always amazing to me how twisted everybody is convinced everybody else is. We have all been conditioned to think the world is conspiring against us. Or maybe you are just bored. Get a life.

Re-fail. Sure they emit more Sulpher. But they emit less carbon. So twelve of one, a dozen of the other doesnt make you smart hotshot. Which is more common in the U.S., Acid Rain, or Lung Disease. Also, you “failed” to take into acount, that not only do gasolines emmisions create more damage, it does it at 3 times the rate of Diesel fuel. Keep in mind, that Diesel is the biproduct of all petroleum. Its what’s left, after you get that tiny little bit of gasoline off the top
Ignorance. No politician has morals or ethics. Again, follow the money and you’ll see why Democrats are for the health care, and the GOP opposes it. The GOP wants the budget to go to defense, they are in bed with that industry. The Democrats want the budget to go to healthcare, they are in bed with the medical unions as well as the pharmaceutical companies. Honest politicans is an oxymoron.
If insurance companies could sell across state lines, they’d do exactly what the credit card companies did. incorporate in the state with the least regulations and collude to keep prices and profits high.
Has competition forced your credit card rates down to a few percent? Why not? They sell across state lines, right?
Government regulations are the only thing keeping the rates below 30%, they’d charge 100% if they were allowed to do so.

Uh no actually. The only reason it hasn’t been reconciled already, is because Obama, unlike Emperor Bush, has tried every thing he could to do this in a bipartisan fashion. This Summit was the repubs last chance. And don’t you worry about the elections. When Americans see how good this thing will work, the Republicans are finished, and the corporations are going to be held accountable. So enjoy this little circus while it lasts, because it’s about to get wrapped up
Fail. Diesel engines emit more Sulphur into the atmosphere which is a leading cause of acid rain. If you’re truly worried about the environment and/or global warming, then don’t drive a car. Ride a bike. Oh and get off the computer, you’re using electricity. The plastic that your computer is made out of also is made from oil. You’re destroying the Earth arguing on Youtube. Go Vegan too, because 1/3 of global warming is caused by the meat industry.
Provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare
It’s right there in the preamble. And common defense doesn’t just mean against war and invaders. A pandemic is just as great a threat to our national security, and a comprehensive universal health care system is a good defense against that.
Fail. Democrats are in bed with the Pharmaceutical companies, Republicans are in bed with the Defense Industry. Both lead to war and peace. It’s called the clusterfuck cycle.
To say a Democrat is better than a Republican or vice versa just makes you sound ignorant. The problem is that the people who run the government are unintelligent. Thus, it’s a linear relationship. Less government, less stupidity. It’s inversely related to wealth and freedom, as they increase as government is decreased.
Being educated and having job prospects does tend to keep you from being a criminal.
How many liquor stores get robbed by college graduates? Or by people who had a steady job?
You are exactly right, criminals commit crimes not the poor. What an insult to poor people, to say they are degenerates that will steal instead of work. My parents were poor all my life, but the lived their lives with dignity, and always cared for their kids, and others; and they did it without becoming criminals. It is no different to say, the rich people got their wealth by stealing it from others. There are rich and poor criminals, and the both have something in common, they’re criminals.
People should go to the emergency room for broken bones. You don’t make an appointment and wait, it needs to be set right now.

When your kids are suffocating in front of you because of lung diseases or they can’t breath because there’s so much fucking carbon pollution in the air, we’ll see how happy you are about your non-fedaralized MPH, MPG, and “thick” vehicles that you bought, that you can’t afford to drive because gasoline is so expensive, and its more of a waste TO drive, because your family died of asthma, and there’s no one to drive to soccer practice.
Life is indeed not fair, it’s a series of random events.
People, who are conscious beings endowed with a moral sense, CAN be fair, and the rules and systems they make can be fair as well.
